Seasonal Community Circle

Collaborating with seasonal thresholds,
plant allies, elements and the power of community and ritual to meaningfully embrace and welcome change in collective and individual ways.

Change is an inevitable part of life. The earth reminds us of this as we observe the rise and fall of the seasons, as death creates the compost to nourish new life, and as the moon pulls tides from shore to shore.

As the conditions of crises on earth become ever more challenging and unstable, we need more than ever to develop the tools to collectively and individually meet change in intentional and creative ways. These community circles invite the power of the collective in relationship with the land to maximise our resilience and sense of togetherness in facing the changes ahead.

A seasonal community circle can be between one and two hours in length. All invitations offered to the circle are optional. Everyone is invited to take part in the ways that feel supportive and possible for them.

Offerings are primarily held in South Devon, however for longer group explorations, sessions further afield in the UK are possible.

“Your ceremonies have been very welcoming spaces to reconnect and celebrate. A sense of wholeness comes from being within them, singing & co-creating a warm energy that enabled me to leave them feeling both grounded & lighter, with more to give.”

WHAT’S A CIRCLE LIKE?

Standard circles include:

  • Gathering outdoors, around a fire if possible and wanted

  • Grounding practices and nature-based meditation

  • Group introductions and welcome

  • Ongoing invitations to check in with ourselves and our emerging needs

  • Introducing the gifts of the seasonal shifts, and the invitations and possibilities offered by these thresholds

  • Inviting us to connect to personal and collective intentions, and enhance the power of these intentions through collective and individual ritual processes

  • Inspiration offered through song and poetry

  • Optional opportunity to people to share their intentions and experiences with the group.

Circles can also include:

  • Bringing along objects that are meaningful to us and create a shared altar for our time together

  • Collective shared creative practice such as singing or creating land art together

  • Intentional craft practices working with natural and seasonal materials

  • Welcoming plant allies into the circle to support our process. For example, at the beginning of spring, cleavers arrives to help us cleanse our lymphatic system and flush out any stagnancy built up over winter. A cleavers water infusion can support us in a process of letting go so we can more fully welcome the possibilities offered by spring’s arrival.
